Avery Gay is from Scottsdale, Az. She began performing and dancing at the age of 4 and was quickly hooked on the feeling she got from performing for an audience. Avery has the reputation of being a trailblazer. Dancing a ballet fusion mixing classical ballet with other exciting genres. She is risk taker. Even if it means dancing in satin pointe shoes on a World of Dance digital computer screen stage. She was featured dancing with her partner on the Qualifiers, The Duals and The Cut on NBC World of Dance. Prior to that, she was featured as the youngest dancer to dance on pointe for a prime time TV show, NBC’s Little Big Shots and Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. Avery has had the rare opportunity to excel in both the commercial and concert world. In addition to the commercial work, she has been fortunate to perform in more than 12 ballet galas. This has allowed her to travel around the globe from Australia to Portugal. Notably she was honored to perform in the Stars of Today, Stars of Tomorrow Gala at the David H. Koch theater in New York after winning the gold medal for Classical Pas De Deux at YAGP Finals. In 2017, she was awarded The Dance Awards Junior Female Best Dancer. This was Avery’s second Best Dancer Title. These accomplishments have led Avery to be featured in Dance Spirit Magazine as “You Should Know”, Showstopper Magazine & several local Arizona magazines. Giving back is so important to Avery. She organized a fundraiser to sell her gently worn dancewear. The proceeds from the sale were donated to Danza que de Esperanza, a non-profit in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico that aids children living in poverty. She is currently working with a local dance studio owner to provide private lessons for one aspiring young dancer who cannot afford lessons.
