The description recommends sizing down but I disagree. My daughter normally wears a YL in the everyday shorts with plenty of room to grow, so I ordered a YL in these shorts as well. The waistband is sewn so that it is very small at the top and was far too tight. For reference, a street size 8 is still loose on my daughter. The shorts fit well other than the waist.

Just received this outfit. Absolutely love the color, such a beautiful blue. The details recommend sizing down in the shorts, but I think sizing up is a better. My daughter wears a YL in the everyday 2" short and still has room to grow, so I ordered a YL in this as well, but it is too tight in the waist. There is an elastic in the waistband of the victory short that is not present in the everyday 2" we normally buy.
