Lex Ishimoto, hailing from CA, was trained vigorously in all styles of dance and part of different communities such as crews, studios, conventions, circles, and freelance curiosity. He debuted his first professional dance job as “Billy” on the 1st and 2nd national tour of “Billy Elliot the Musical” in 2011. Lex’s training continued at Boston Ballet School as a trainee in 2015 and was promoted to Boston Ballet II the following year. After joining Travis Wall’s Shaping Sound company for the tour of “After The Curtain” In 2017, Ishimoto was crowned America’s Favorite Dancer on So You Think You Can Dance season 14, as well as appearing as an All-Star for the seasons ahead. In 2019 Ishimoto joined the MUSE Simulation Theory World Tour, has set work for the Boston Ballet and working with William Forsythe for “The Barre Project” the following year. In his commercial work, Lex can be seen in music videos dancing for artist such as Sia, Judith Hill, BeBe Rexha, as well as working for Disney+, Apple TV, and the Oscar’s for film. His recent works include campaign shoot for Louis Vuitton, European and CA debut for “Time Spell” by Tiler Peck, Michelle Dorrance, Jillian Meyers, “Friends of Forsythe” - William Forsythe, and traveling faculty/teacher for JUMP Dance Convention and CLI Studios.
